Skin Cancer Free Announces Research Collaboration with OHSU Knight Cancer Institute to advance skin cancer research

Skin Cancer Free is pleased to announce a research collaboration with the OSHU Knight Cancer Institute to advance skin cancer research.   Skin Cancer Free will be sponsoring and providing Advanced Skin Cancer Screenings throughout the United States focused on the early detection of melanoma and other skin cancers.  Researchers hope to ultimately examine more than 100,000 participants for skin cancers as part of their research.

OHSU (Oregon Health and Science University) is a nationally-ranked public research university and the OHSU Knight Cancer Institute is an NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center.

Collaboration Overview

This collaboration will be done under the Medical Direction of Sancy Leachman, M.D., Ph.D., Professor and Chair of Dermatology, OHSU, and Director, Melanoma Research Program, OHSU Knight Cancer Institute.  Dr. Leachman will also be functioning as Skin Cancer Free’s medical director for the collaboration.  The collaboration will be testing a variety of early detection and examination techniques that Skin Cancer Free believes may provide enhanced early detection of skin cancer. This research will be partially funded by tax-free donations, employer contributions, and employer payments to Skin Cancer Free.
